Can spring just last forever, please?
I’m seriously enjoying every single moment of it. The weather – except for when it decides to rain every single time I’m on a run and miles from the house. Every. Single. Time. The plants! I even went out and picked up the herbs and veggies for my garden today. And the food – because honestly. What would life be without throwing food in there?
This protein shake is probably one of my favorites because it comes together so quickly. A few of the other shake recipes I enjoy, while they taste amazing, require quite a few ingredients. But this one doesn’t. And it’s so decadent, you can eat it for a dessert. Beats shoving your face with those clearance bags of Robin’s Eggs, doesn’t it?
That’s the inspiration for this drink. The inability to control myself from popping those candies into my mouth. And the desire to continue to do so even after the holiday.
Chocolate Malt Protein Shake
serves 1
- 1/2 c cottage cheese
- 1 scoop vanilla protein powder
- 4 tbsp. chocolate malt powder (I used Ovaltine)
- 1/2 c milk of choice (I use unsweetened cashew milk)
- 5-10 ice cubes, depending on how thick you want it
- 1/4 tsp xanthan gum, optional
Place ingredients into a blender and combine until smooth. You can add the xanthan gum if you’d like your shake to be super thick.
Wait until you see what other spring-inspired posts I have!
