Peanut Butter Cookie Dough Blizzard!

I do apologize that my blog posts are so spaced out. I suppose that’s not the best way to pull in viewers, but I’ve been so busy!  Along side of working a full-time job, I’ve decided I was going to go to school full-time as well.  So, I’ve been preparing for the start of classes on Monday.  Not only that, but I’ve been trying to get the format of this blog how I want it as well.  I have so many ideas in my head – it’s hard to remember them when the time comes to sit down and take action.  I probably should jot everything down, but that would be the smart thing to do. I try to save all the making and photo taking for my days off so those days are normally jam-packed with everything I want to do within the week, so bare with me while I figure out a decent schedule for myself.

I’ve been trying to work out daily – amping up my running because the weather is so beautiful outside and I’m petrified we’re going to have another winter like last winter (where I don’t even want to step outside longer than necessary).  Yesterday, though, I took Prince on a 2 mile walk and then decided to try one of the work-outs that Pinterest has to offer.  It kicked my butt.  I’m still sore.  Apparently I’m not as strong as I used to be, because 45 pushups (including push-ups on my knees) leaves my lats feeling like I lifted a heck of a lot more than just my body weight.

  • 10 burpees
  • 15 pushups
  • 20 mountain climbers
  • 30 bicycle crunches
  • 45 second plank

Repeat that 3 times for a beginner (which is all I could handle), 4-5 times for intermediate, and 6 times for an advanced person.  I took a 30 second rest in between sets to sip some water and recover.  One thing is for certain, you can never run out of workout ideas when it comes to Pinterest.  They have a whole slew of them!

Like I said before, I tend to save everything I want to do for the days I have off, which also includes grocery shopping.  Well, while I was at the grocery store I decided to head over to the beer section (if you live in Pennsylvania, you understand the laws of serving alcohol in this state and the ridiculousness that needs to be had just to get some beer).  Well, to my surprise – this happened:

Already?!  It’s not even September and they already have all of the autumn beers out.  I took this photo to send to Mr. LL and then proceeded to purchase a summery IPA by the Ithaca Brewing Co.  There’s just something about rushing the seasons that I’m just not quite ready for.

So anyway – the blizzard.  The it’s-still-summer-and-I’m-going-to-eat-ice-cream blizzard.  If you haven’t guessed already, through the rest of my “try-its”, I’m pretty obsessed with the Dashing Dish blog.  Seriously, go over there and pay the $5 a month to become a member, because you’re going to want to be able to try every creation she comes up with.  Like this Peanut Butter Cookie Dough Blizzard.

{Recipe from Dashing Dish website}

Head on over to her website to get the full recipe.  The link over her name is the direct link to the recipe. It really is like a shake and not a blizzard, but we’ll keep calling it a blizzard and trick our mind, so we don’t get the urge to pull into Dairy Queen and purchase an actual blizzard.  This was amazing and definitely hit the spot.  I’m trying to eliminate sugar from my diet (we don’t even have any in the house) and this was the perfect sweet-treat without all of that processed junk.  Give yourself a little time to freeze the cookie dough pieces because it’s worth it.  I give it a 5-star.
