Had enough yet? I know I’ve posted a lot of protein shake recipes, but really – I’ve been on a kick with them for breakfast lately. This one is undoubtedly delicious. It’s like one of those Flintstone push-pops that I use to eat when I was younger.
The real key to this making this so good is the TrueOrange packets. I’ve always had difficulty finding these packets in a store within the area and so I’ve had to purchase them online, therefore I don’t make this shake too often. A couple weeks ago though, Mr. LL and I were down at a local shop buying our fill of K-cups when I saw a package of TrueOrange packets. I bought it immediately; dreaming of the creamy orange delicious drink that I would be enjoying in the mornings to come. This has always been a favorite of the Dashing Dish protein shakes and it’s one that I make over and over again when the opportunity arises. I definitely suggest giving it a shot, especially if you can find some of those TrueOrange packets at your local Wal-Mart.
Orange Cream Cooler
{recipe from Dashing Dish}
- 1/2 c cottage cheese
- 1 scoop vanilla protein powder
- 4 packets TrueOrange
- 3 packets stevia
- 1/2 c unsweetened almond milk
- 5-10 ice cubes (depending on how you want the consistency)
- orange food coloring (optional)
- 1/2 tsp xanthan gum (optional)
Place all items in a blender and blend until smooth. Although I said the xanthan gum was optional, it really shouldn’t be. You won’t have such a thick, creamy, dessert-like breakfast shake without it
