I’m at it again with another Dashing Dish protein shake. I seriously can’t get enough. Due to running out of cocoa powder on the last shake and not having an abundance of food coloring (or none at all) to take pretty food photos, I decided to go with the birthday cake flavor. Although it’s labeled birthday cake I don’t exactly get that “cakey” taste (and I’m imagining myself licking the spoon of a Betty Crocker’s box mix cake) it’s still pretty darn delicious.

I followed the recipe pretty much to a T, with the exception of using unsweetened vanilla almond milk. I ended up using the 1/2 tsp of vanilla extract because I don’t stock pile vanilla pudding in my pantry. I also used the optional 1/2 tsp of xanthan gum and I’m telling you – it’s a must! It makes your shakes so thick and creamy like a McDonalds milkshake sans the calories and chemicals.
And look – I even tried to copy her photo! That shows what I do in my spare time, but don’t judge and go and make this!
